"What all good financial advisers should know"

Churchwards offers a range of practical estate planning (PEP) training throughout the UK. Its flagship seminars are:
  • PEP 1 (full and half day seminars) – "Raising our Game - personal protection & asset preservation". The essential starting point to help advisers understand the hidden threats to clients' wealth and how to profit from transformed client relationships.
  • PEP 2 (full and half day seminars) – "Going the extra mile". Developing the themes of PEP 1 and focussing on issues faced by high net worth and business owning clients.

By invitation Churchwards also offers workshops (2-3 hours) on selected subjects, undertakes bespoke in-house training for adviser firms, provides a speaker or trainer to participate in external events and welcomes invitations to speak at consumer presentations.

PEP 1 - ’Raising our Game - personal protection & asset preservation’

This currently unique seminar is a wake-up call for financial, mortgage and protection advisers and accountants; it gives them the tools to become better advisers. The one day seminar teaches advisers:

  • The dangers of client apathy and the importance of comprehensive estate planning for clients
  • The importance of clients having effective Wills, Will & Lifetime Trusts
  • How to discuss taboo subjects which currently take them out of their comfort zone
  • How to identify and discuss the nightmares of life that ‘won’t happen to us’
  • How to identify complex client circumstances and their potential threat to wealth
  • How to help the elderly preserve their wealth and home
  • How to identify issues facing high net worth and business owning clients
  • How to identify cases for specialist tax and business succession advice
  • How to profit from changed client relationships
  • How to profit from probate
  • How to work with other professionals

PEP 2 - ’Going the extra mile’

This seminar develops the themes of PEP 1 and focusses on specific issues faced by high net worth clients and business owners. It gives advisers the confidence to identify with clients the threats to their wealth which other local professionals do not pro-actively bring to their attention and discuss. It will enable advisers to reposition their business and increase their market share. More details are available during PEP 1.

Who is PEP for?

For all financial advisers and accountants particularly:

  • Advisers who wish to enhance their client care, extend their services and earn more
  • Para- planners & back office staff who wish to extend their understanding of clients’ circumstances and needs
  • Business owning advisers who wish to re-position their business and increase its market share

Why attend?

  • Can you afford not to when clients so urgently need professional advice? PEP training alerts you, their most trusted adviser, to just how exposed they are and how much they need your guidance. Few professional advisers are pro-actively giving it.
  • Can you afford to lose your clients? The significant changes currently taking place in how legal services can now be provided are opening doors to new providers with big marketing budgets. A call to action by consumers will follow so prepare yourself to deflect this threat and protect your client relationships.
  • Can you afford not to find new sources of income and improve your bottom line when the cost of sales continues to increase? Why walk away from the opportunity to write new business?
  • To improve your professional competencies and self-esteem.

What other advisers have said:

  • ‘Excellent!. A real eye-opener. Thank you.’ Ivan Hargreaves, IFA
  • ‘Extremely useful and well delivered … of great value in highlighting new benefits to me, my business and my clients.’ Richard Jones, IFA
